Editorial Policy

Last updated: 20 June 2026

Independence

AutoWarrantyAdvice is editorially independent. No advertiser, sponsor, or affiliate partner sees articles before they are published, and none has any influence over what we cover or how we cover it. Where we have a commercial relationship with a product mentioned in an article, that relationship is disclosed in the article and in our disclaimer.

Sourcing

We prefer primary sources: actual vehicle service contracts we have read end-to-end, state insurance regulator filings, FTC and NAIC consumer guidance, and our own conversations with claims adjusters and shop service advisors. When we cite secondary sources we link to them in a "References" section at the end of every article.

No paid placements

AutoWarrantyAdvice does not sell warranties, does not earn commissions on warranty sales, and does not accept payment to recommend a specific administrator. We may use affiliate links to unrelated consumer products; those are disclosed in the disclaimer.

AI policy

We do not publish AI-generated articles. Every guide is written by a named human author. We do use AI tools for limited research, summarising long PDFs, and proofreading — but the words on the page are written and edited by humans.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated correction note at the bottom of the article. Email contact@autowarrantyadvice.com with the URL and the issue.

Updates

Contract terms, administrators, and regulations change. Every article carries a "Last updated" date and we re-review pillar guides at least twice a year.
